DESCRIPTION OF THE PERFORMANCE IN THE INSTRUMENTAL ACTIVITIES OF DAILY LIVING OF ADULT WOMEN WITH A DIAGNOSIS OF FIBROMYALGIA

The objective was to describe the performance in instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) of adult women between 30 and 60 years old with a diagnosis of fibromyalgia from the Chilean Fibromyalgia Corporation in 2022. It was recruited through a non-probabilistic convenience sampling. to 31 women from the corporation for the application of the Instrumental Hernández-Neumann Instrumental for the Evaluation of Occupational Performance of Daily Life through virtual modality. The results are from 17 women of the total sample, obtaining varying degrees of dependency in all activities, with communication management being the least affected with 70% independence and the most affected being the establishment and management of the home with 76,5% of the dependent participants but collaborate in the activity. Despite the low participation, the results obtained showed that the performance of IADLs is affected as a result of the symptoms that FM presents, highlighting pain, tiredness and fatigue as the main limitations, which is why people tend to have different levels of dependency in carrying out these activities, and require different levels of assistance to carry them out.
